District Mobile Ophthalmic Unit Ernakulam
Conducting eye camps for cataract Screening and Diabetic Retinopathy detection camps in the remote areas including tribal and coastal areas. To promote cataract surgery, transporting patients from camp site to the hospital and back. Conducting School eye screening program.
National Program for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment Ernakulam
Under NPCB& VI, Providing free spectacles to students and elderly patients from financially backward classes.
To create public awareness, Observing Glaucoma Week in the second week of March , Eye Donation Fortnight from August 25th to September 8th and World Sight Day in the second Thursday of October every year
Issuing grant in aid to Non Government Organizations to promote free cataract screening camps and do cataract surgeries and Diabetic Retinopathy treatment free of cost to the patients.
Issuing grant in aid to Eye Banks to promote Eye Donation activities and Keratoplasty.
