General Medicine
Department of General Medicine at GH Ernakulum is a multidisciplinary department that offers Outpatient, Inpatient and 24×7 emergency services . Department is enriched with faculities who have years of experience in health service.
Services Provided:
1. OP – Outpatient Services provided daily from 8 am – 1 pm. The OPD service caters to approximately 200 patients per day addressing all the major communicable and non communicable diseases.
2. IP – In patient services include 45 bedded ward with a patient turnover of 1000/month.
3. MICU – We have 2 Medical Intensive Care Units one is 16 bedded and other is 15 bedded . The facilities provided include ventillatory supports for functionally ill patients, ICUs Dialysis (SLED), Bedside Ultrasound and ABG.
4. Emergency Services – 24×7 services
5. Consultation in Medical Cases from other departments
6. DNB Programme – The department alongside patient care, function as an Academic platform, offering intake of 2 DNB candidates per year. Dr. Anu C Kochukunju is the nodal officer.
